Illustrated fantasy bestiary!

Would you believe it, I'm still working on this RPG! I commissioned artist and friend Jean Camilo to help conceptualize and illustrate the fantasy segment of the bestiary, and she knocked it out of the park with a grungy, pulpy, evocative piece full of mean beasties. Eventually, I hope to have every page illustrated or illuminated in some way, but this will have to do for now as a proof of concept.
Additionally, there have been some clarity-related changes:
- Keywords now have the most important part of their effect highlighted in bold, plus some slight rewordings here and there. Hopefully this will make the list a little easier to skim while playing.
- Some segments that interject philosophy or playstyle suggestions rather than straight-up mechanical rules are now safely contained in little boxes.
- The quirky and free-thinking Target Number (TN) has been replaced with old reliable Difficulty Class (DC). Sometimes, you just can't beat the classics.
There's plenty of work left to do with regards to consistency and clarity. Sometimes I find outdated rulings or old ideas lurking in passages I thought were up to date, and sometimes I'll revisit an old segment and realize that my perspective has grown more nuanced. Often when running games in the system I'll tack on some campaign-specific homebrew elements or make little adjustments to the rules as I go, then forget that they aren't there in the base game when they sometimes really should be. Playtesting is important, as it turns out!
